I am currently a high school senior and I am considering a career in Dental Hygienist. I am applying to a Dental hygienist program at my local community college but I want to acquire more information before I actually apply. What is the difficulty level on the classes? I am an A and B average student and I have taken mostly all advanced classes. Do dental hygienist have a stressful job and what would the salary be like?
I’m A freshman In highschool and Ive wanted to be a dental hygientist as well. I did a school report on it once and You should go to dental school for about 4 years. The median pay is about $65,000, ranges between $60,000 to $110,000. If you’d be interested in other dental jobs like endodontists or orthodontists then you’d be looking at something around $80,000 or higher. Hope that helps in anyway.

I am applying for a dental assistant position at an office who’s add i saw on craigslist. This practice is willing to train applicant. I need help in putting a cover letter together for this particular practice. Here’s what I have so far, should i make any adjustments or do a completely different cover letter if so please help me !!!!
thanks:)
Dear Sally,
I am writing in response to your advertisement for a dental assistant. I recently graduated from CT School of Professionals dental assisting program. I will be taking the x-ray exam upon the completion of my additional training at your office.
My objective is to obtain a position in a team oriented office that will enable me to utilize the skills that I have learned and improve upon them with the teachings and guidance from the dentist and the staff that will ultimately help the practice grow.
I completed 25 hours of clinical experience during office internships. I am especially interested in root canal, amalgam, and composite procedures, but I am proficient in all areas of dental assisting.
I would welcome the opportunity to tell you more about my background and qualifications in an interview after you read the enclosed resume.
Thank you for your consideration,
That sounds very good. There are no typos or grammar issues that I can see. That is one thing that I look at very closely. If you cannot write or you do not notice errors with your writing, it tells me that you will do the same with your work. Good luck.

See if there is an EXPO coming up in your area first – they will advise of visa’s – immigration and have job offers.

i have a 12 year old cat, who needs some dental work but this is something im looking into doing in the future, i was wondering how much it would cost for tooth extraction as he does need a fang removed, and a dental implant? also to ensure his gums are clean or .. disease free, because they are pretty bad he is 12… very old cat haha. so i guess this is a two part question. with the second part being.. what kind of things do they do to ensure the gums are ok taken care of like if they have plaque etc. and how much does it cost?
First, 12 is not a "very old cat". He’s up there, but with proper care he’s got quite a few happy years left.
Just like humans, cats get periodontal disease. And just like in humans, it pours bacteria into the blood stream and can lead to heart and kidney disease, not to mention a very painful mouth. Cats feel pain from bad teeth just like we do. The vet will put him under anethetic, pull all infected teeth, and clean/scrape the gums. The cost for this varies greatly by vet and also needs to include pre-op blood work at his age. Price for the blood work could range between $45 and $200, and the dental could range from $150 to $500. Vet prices of course depend on the cost of living in your area. Dentals with extractions should also include antibiotics and pain medication! The cheapest option is not always the best – like everything else in life, you get what you pay for and there is always a reason why something’s cheap.
This is something that should be done sooner rather than later. You’re really risking kidney disease at his age, which is surely a complication that you don’t need. Oh, and dental implants? Not an issue – they don’t do those for cats.

Had my intital free check up – was charged £10 for this appointment – was told after I had kept it I would get this money back – nothing 3 weeks on.
I was meant to go in for futher work invloling sedation i had to pay £60.00 for that appointment – again it being refunded when I went for it or if I cancelled more than 24 hours beforehand.
I wrote to the practice to ask for a written quote – the dental treatment form and a price quote – no reply.
They never mentioned any prices to me at any stage.
I had to cancel – did so 4 days in advance. Have written to the practice manager (hand delivered) to request a full refund of my £70.00 – no response.
This is the NHS in Scotland should I start a formal complaint against them now? I paid via credit card – would this be an option or gettingmy money back? As the practice is not responding to me.
Sorry question has a typo!
NHS dentist won’t refund my deposit?
Mmm, sounds a bit dodgy.
I would write one more letter and post it by recorded delivery so you have a proof of date etc.
Include all dates and amounts in the letter. Just so it’s clear in case you have to take it further in the future.
NHS is a government founded organisation and I am sure you will be able to retrieve your money back. However, you should be spared such a hassle!
As far as the credit card goes – I have been in similar situation myself. I got my money back from my bank but if I remember well, they only cover certain amounts. My bank covers amounts over 100 quid.
Call your branch and find out. It would be much easier for you to retrieve your money this way.
Goos luck!
